election time

didn't read your last post until after my ode to the tomato
and i have a plan.
will you be here on the 14th?
i will make you a sticker to take with you to vote here
you can slap it over your exciting canadian options
and PRETEND you are voting for obama.
think of the satisfaction!
anything for you

gold nuggets

i had wanted to post images of the tennis courts at mcspadden park,
completely overhauled, shiny and new, the perfect east van spot to show off your chanel racket
(because i know you are a tennis girl all the way)
but i just haven't made it up there
(five whole blocks...)
instead here's a handful of almost the last of the tomatoes from the garden
red currant
and stellar gold nuggets, the flavour queens

blame the jews! (not really)

fun with barbie

i know... you keep giving me glamour and i keep giving you barbie. don't ask, just happened upon this one and of all things, the redesigner lives in vancouver so i thought it was meant to be...and might bring a smile to your face.
this is my reality in america...a gun toting, narrow minded soccer mom with a pregnant teenage daughter that potentially could end up as president of the united states of insane is that?!!!
can't wait to be back on canadian soil next week.

another fine thing about seattle

i know, i give me millicent and i hit you back with barbie...not quite up to snuff but her quote had me thinking as my mantra as of late has been 'avoid unecessary chatter' of which there is so bloody much of. she's quite fine your milli [wish someone would bring back this name] and i've never heard of her.
and why barbies you ask? well, i woke up this morning thinking about chris jordan's work and thought in the off chance you have never heard of him, you should.

TGIF dollface...this time next week we shall be in the same city.

millicent rogers

dear art star
sounds good to me.
feeling a bit millicent rogers today.
like i need to load on the jewels, a smattering of couture, and a layered skirt i dyed in a pot on the kitchen stove.
oh to be an eccentric heiress!
She said:

Life is absolutely beautiful if one will disassociate oneself from noise and talk and live it according to one's inner light.

I couldn't agree more...
love to you

recently heard this show is on at the contemporary art gallery in vancouver [their link is presently not working] and thought we might make a date of it? followed by some king yo...perfect.

work week

hello my lovely
just in case you are feigning modesty, allow me to announce to our wide and varied readership the opening of your exhibition at the see line gallery in santa monica.
for all of us who are not in california, please take note of how brilliantly the show has been hung to accommodate the down the rabbit hole proportions of the space.
love you lady,

more blue roses

yes, that's sydney...
and more on blue roses here.

stardust memories

But sadly you won't be skating here.
I have fond memories of their old rink in North Van, which I think has morphed into a thrift store.
How fitting for us.

But how about an astronomy picture a day?

Not a bad compromise...

everytime i see a rollerskate, i am filled with nostalgia and a longing to be gliding around the rink as melanie sings 'brand new key'. i do have a pair with me here in venice but have yet to bust them out on the boardwalk with my hotpants. this shiny one available here along with many other items you don't need for your home.

had a listen to hello blue that sydney singing.?

miss the fall weather with you.

and I just read the lovely rodarte article in the nytimes, and posted to banquet...
have a look, if you haven't read the paper!

au revoir simone

i think i have found your long lost bandmates...
and love them!

things that au revoir simone
think are hot right now

twilight bike rides, watching a garden grow, Liberty of London prints, homemade pickles and sauerkraut, SIGG reusable Swiss water bottles, outdoor movies, Joan Didion and hats!

i believe you were separated a birth...

an interesting project involving beautiful bird drawings by hellovon via its nice that
today i wish i could just fly away...
or have enough money to buy you a medor watch.

So it's not a great image, but sitting on the top of the bookshelf is an orange paper kelly bag in a plexi box.
I don't know if it's a Tom Sachs, but I love it - that's my kind of hermes (except maybe a grey and silver medor watch) (and of course a birkin would make a fine diaper bag!)
From photographer Anita Calero's ny home.

It's been fascinating watching the election play out from outside ... go donkeys go!
