they've just opened a new south china seas just two blocks away, so the other night we made a green curry with lime leaves, galangal, fresh turmeric, and other good things.
we used a new kitchen tool:
oh eight cup capacity granite mortar and pestle, where have you been all my life!
i think there will be many more curry pastes in our future.

did you have a happy mother's day? i hope so as you certainly deserve to be pampered and spoiled, especially right now.
i spent the weekend in vintage land. i found this fantabulous cape at the santa monica vintage show on saturday and the gold trimmed zeiss sunglasses at the rosebowl fleamarket on sunday, creating my big bird incognito spring look.
to top it all off, the monkey found a great dim sum place in san pedro where we enjoyed some fine dumplings and noodles after the market.
now having a quiet monday and trying to catch up on all the loose ends.
still have yet to go check out those kicks...but soon.
miss cape town.

those are sweet!
might have to check them out at the OC store here in LA
maybe a new ride to go with the footwear?
this amazing VW was at our location yesterday.
wanted to wrap a big bow around it and
ship it to your door in time for mother's day.

i'm seriously coveting these new "dunks," a collaboration between nike and liberty. twee and street? yes please.
sadly not available anywhere in my universe ... maybe at colette, or opening ceremony, if you happen to be in new york or paris this week.
also givin' you a heads up re. the sorcerers show this saturday. highly entertaining, and such a fine looking bassist!

My books are overtaking us -these haphazard shelves are held up by more piles. And piles on the tables and piles under the tables. And piles by the bed and even under the piano.
Time to cull, to lug to storage, to the sally ann. It hurts me to even think about it.
PS The irregular organization by colour is a product of necessity rather than adherence to any interiors magazine doctrine. When I am looking for a title, I have always remembered the spine first.
