fashion oscars

completely agree, tilda swinton nails it everytime.
i think the award for worst oscar outfit goes to sarah jessica parker.
if one is going to do a gown, can't they channel sabrina rather than the tooth fairy?
speaking of the oscars i am having dinner with 2 time oscar winning costume designer, colleen atwood tomorrow night.
living and breathing hollywoood!

jazzberry dam

in my books, it's tilda swinton for best dressed,
and it's not just at the oscars.

she nails it every time...

and shoes for you

via shoe gazing here as written about in todays ny times.
xo jj

some sunday shoe love for you -
these, from la based omelle.

and here's that cute haircut again, on the equally cute rinko kikuchi.

sunday's musings - 2

those are good prints and words to live by. ah yi is also taking a letterpress course.
and come to think of it i did a one day workshop in williamsburg last year.
right now i want a sewing machine and a very tiny waist. first one achievable, the other much harder...perhaps i should try gwyneth's detox and exercise regimes all here at her new lifestyle site as written about in today's ny times sunday styles. whew. that was a mouthful for a sunday. i might mention the woman's fashion spring 2009 magazine also included in today's paper. wish this fabulous old pattern was included as well so i could make my new summer playsuit and pannier skirt.

miz jow

that pasta looks about perfect -
it may become a staple for me too.

here's some more nike love.
from colette, via my fave, the selby
(where else can you find these shoes, this fine selection of spines, and learn that michael stipe loves to look at the staples in telephone poles?)

sally ann

lamb ragu recipe

made this last night for dinner and thought i would share as it has become a staple in my cooking repertoire. mangier bene!

margiela cut out boot

sahara of the sea...

am thinking you should get the lou lou in the lavender shade
for your own lulu...and of course, one for yourself.

i fell in love with the christopher ross belts
then made the mistake of looking at her daughter's shoe blog
and have now fallen head over heels in love with these.
are they not the most gorgeous boot out there?

available here
and worn by the style child here

will be dreaming of these for days.

lou lou

I always kind of liked the ghost chair by Philippe Starck for kartell -
that's liked, not loved - but now that they have a mini version called the lou lou?
it's for sure on the wish list for my own lulu (lou lou?)
if i could just choose a colour....

Christopher Ross Belts

I should add that Atlantis Home has the most amazing collection of Christopher Ross belts -
I'd never heard of him, but they are totally fabulous.

ps see more here.

St. Bartholomew's Church

Another church for you,
this time St. Bartholomew's Church in Eastern Bohemia,
with interior by Czech designer Maxim Velcovsky,
and featuring the iconic Panton chair.

Found via the blog Atlantis Home,
(authored by the mother of Sea of Shoes).

PS OK, that undies set is totally perfect, and as for the Japanese attention to detail, I've been bookmarking Japanese stationary sites like mad, to share soon.

packaging + detail

(my picture)
the japanese have a way of packaging everything so beautifully.
i studied these fine red ribbons that bundled my somen noodles
before they went into the pot and thought of your attention to detail.
then of course found...
(their picture...see what i mean about detail)

it's pouring rain here but makes a perfect day for the barney's warehouse sale that started today where i shall try to ignore details on the price tags.
