proud as a

my darling ess,

i don't even know what to say about last night's game and i might have to take some kind of medication to control my heart rate when i watch tomorrow's finale...
c'mon canucks, you're so #$@* close! pay attention and put the damn pucks in!!

i went and perused your auction site and so saw many fantastic things that i coveted from afar...
but now that i'm in minimalist mode, it did make it easier to not pine or let my credit card creep out of it's place.

so the royal wedding is on friday and i must say i would so love to tune in and see her wearing this peacock number available for only $1.5 million dollars but instead i'm sure it will be some fluffy white number akin to something atop a wedding cake.  oh well.

we'll let chicago have one more game...

i am trying to stop crying in my beer, but i'm having a hell of a time.
and looking at this amazing modernist design auction in far away pennsylvania isn't helping. lots of danish modern and enough lucite to let you live like wonder woman in at least two secret locations.
so many things to covet!
but you better hurry, only four more days...

the canucks still rule, and don't let anyone tell you different.

saturday in the park

darling xs,

m + d arrived saturday and we immediately hit dumplings where we feasted and tried out a new dumpling on the menu - green melon + shrimp = divine.

then we went for a wander around the arboretum as it's close to dumplings and we've never been.
i've been having a peacock thing lately and was pleased as punch to encounter one in full spread the minute we arrived at the park. where did these delightful creatures come from? the colours, the feathers ...completely insane really.

as are the variety of orchids we saw...so gorgeous!

not so gorgeous was the tree of thorns from peru i believe...
(would like to tie our ex's to it ...you heard me CL + SB)

and how sweet are the turtles sunning themselves on the log.

after the park it was time for margaritas and then SLS and i went to the moca opening and caught the cold crush brothers live for a little booty shaking.

finished the evening meeting up with m + d again for pizza.

AND more importantly finished up the weekend watching the canucks whoop some hawk ass in game 3 all thanks to your inspiring video post here.

and so did my weekend.

it all starts here

such a dilemma i had as to which blog to post this to!

ultimately it's here because of a memory i have of being in akbar with my gin, a few fine foxy ladies, and a room full of people all singing along to this song. of course i didn't figure the lyrics out until now...

it all starts here, one down, fifteen to go.

come see this

doll face,

there's nothing that you could do to your hair and still not look absolutely gorgeous!
and i must say, i'm liking the sound of the mia meets jean look.
nearly made it up there this week to see it in person but alas my dear too much on my plate at the moment.

the monk sent me this link last night which i thought went well with your ny film...we'll have to see both no?

come on back

blank city

Blank City Official Trailer from Celine Danhier on Vimeo.

hiya sweetie

so i am shorn, and somehow "keep it long in the front," was heard as "give me stoopid-short half-inch bangs all along the front like a helmet meets joan of arc."
so i am trying to play up he mia farrow meets jean seberg thing, and forget that i am not in fact a 22-year old ingenue.

so in the vein of being the star-of-my-own-movie (which i truly believe is how we all should approach our lives), i've decided i need to see this movie, about the independent film scene in new york in the late 70s and mid 80s. if i can't find it here i'm hoping i can track it down when i'm actually in new york in may...

but i have a feeling somehow, someway, i'll be seeing you sooner.

the slice

darling s,

meet my new BFF...
all i can think is,  where have you been all my life? !!!
my salad daze will officially begin.
you must get one if you don't already have... right now.

love those cuts and makes me want to chop all of mine as well.
thinking you should take in picture no. 2 with you to the salon..
it will look perfect on you and it's a little softer than no. 1
(though i do adore as well...she is sooo cute!)

overcast and grey here today which means the nabe pot is on the stove.

the chop

lovely lady jay

i FINALLY booked a hair appointment, but now i am a bit lost for ideas.
any suggestions?
(i half-wonder if it's the fact that these girls look actually happy that makes me want the hair, rather than the hair itself...)
(i think the first one is the sartorialist?, and i know the last two are his lady friend, garance dore.)

i need to get my hands on a copy of that wsj style mag, not least of all because deborah needleman, she of domino magazine fame, is the new editor.

WSJ the magazine

so lovely hearing your voice yesterday...i miss you.

after we spoke i headed over to SLS's patio to hang out under the stars + she showed me the new Wall Street Journal magazine...it's online as well.
thought you might like to do a little weekend reading including this article on the grand dame of fashion, Anna Wintour.
