christmas is total magic, but tonight i'm looking ahead and behind and thinking about the blessings of the last year and next.
let's drink blood orange gins and pick at platters of braesola and olives and fine sheep cheese.
we'll push the tables together and hunt for a fourteenth chair so we can all sit and drink east van red wine from thin glass tumblers while we eat bowls of ragu with a twisted and unpronounceable noodle.
etta james and ethiopiques will segue into jamaica funk, and we can all go to sleep with smiles on our faces.
all our days are gifts.

the new volume of canal house cooking just came out and made me immediately think of you...
i would love to be reading through this entire set right now as the rain drizzles down on this grey monday morning.
your handbag choices are divine and my heart is right there with yours on the birken...
la dolce vita indeed!
see you soonish for some dumplings and noodles.

love love love the baby blue.
my handbag wish list starts with the nifty little celine number at top. black, snake, and suede.
it's quickly followed by this kelly green and camel proenza schouler ps 11 tote.
but of course my heart really belongs to one of these, preferably in slightly battered natural leather. like maybe my great uncle used to smuggle cheese back and forth across the channel with it. or my grandmother used it as a baby bag when she lived in biarritz.
a girl can dream.
anything else on your christmas wish list?
(besides learning to identify the men's version of red flag...???)
(it smells like it came from the drugstore.)

how nice would it be to wake up here christmas morning?
or for that matter, any morning.
the image taken from this beautiful blog jb turned me onto.
we had the 'weekend only small dumplings' on saturday at DTF
which were good but not epic like the noodles with sesame sauce we tried...
they were absolutely divine and i have been craving them ever since.
then we headed to the Norton Simon to check out the print show
that you must come and see... seriously!
it's on until Apr. 2nd so we have to get you down here before then.
i am back in drawing land today
wishing instead i was shopping for some Marni at H&M with you....
